We are producing MMC, that is a composite of metal and ceramic, which has excellent properties and is not found in conventional metals and ceramic materials. MMC is an excellent composite material with low thermal expansion, high thermal conductivity, and heat dissipation with light weight of aluminum and the rigidity of iron. When you want to improve the performance of products, have difficulty producing products with large parts and complicated shapes, MMC with excellent physical properties will solve it.
SA301 and SA401 arecomposite materialscontaining SiC ceramicparticles at 30 or 40vol %in an aluminum alloy.Components made ofthese materials can bemanufactured using thecasting methods of sandmold casting and diecasting. With lightness equivalent to aluminum and a Young 's modulus greaterthan that of cast iron, these materials support mass production ofsmall components, large sized products, and complicated shapes.
SA701 is a compositematerial in which a porousbody of SiC (70vol %) isinfiltrated with aluminum. With lightness equivalentto aluminum, this materialhas a Young 's modulusof 1 3 timesthatofstainless steel while alsohaving excellent thermalproperties. While making it easier to produce larger sized components comparedto ceramics, infiltration with metal has increased fracture toughnessmaking components more difficult to crack
SA001 is a composite material in which a porous body of Si(75vol %) is infiltrated with aluminum. It is lighter than aluminum, has the same rigidity as cast iron, and haslow thermal expansion near to ceramic.
SS 501, SS 701 andSS702 are compositematerialsinwhichaporous body of SiC (50 ~75vol %) is infiltrated withmetallic silicon. Physicalproperties that matchvarious needs have beenrealized by altering theS i C ratio. H avingnosurface defects, thesematerials are optimal for manufacturing equipment for semiconductorsand LCD as well as for inspection equipment.
